GETTING LUCKY IN SAN ANTONIO

San Antonio's St. Patrick's Day festival was first thrown in 1969 and has since then been hosted by the same organizers, Visit San Antonio River Walk and the Harp & Shamrock Society of Texas. Some of the festivities include a river parade with St. Patrick's Day themed river floats, crowning of River Walk Royalty, the Emerald Run 5K, a St. Patrick's Day themed fashion show for dogs and more. Most noticeably, however, is the fact that every year, the San Antonio river is dyed with eco-friendly green dye, similarly to the Chicago river, to fit right in with the holiday's color scheme.
